What works the same as Pro Tools
- An Edit window for arranging and editing, and a Mix window for balancing.
- Edit modes, tools, playlists and memory locations.
- Multitrack editing and a full mixer with plug-ins, sends and automation.
- MIDI, recording and bouncing.
What is missing
- It is at an early stage. The project calls it pre-alpha and puts it at about 40% of the way to replacing Pro Tools for real work.
- You can't choose your audio interface or buffer size yet.
- Recording MIDI from a controller.
- Exchanging sessions with other programs (AAF/OMF).
How to get started
- Click Download. It opens the SoundCraft page on the ArtCraft site.
- Pick the version for your computer: Windows, Mac or Linux.
- Install it, open SoundCraft and start a session in the Edit window.
