Gridline
Clone of FL Studio
Free music studio, written from scratch, that works like FL Studio: channel rack, piano roll, playlist and mixer. Opens your FL Studio projects.

What works the same as FL Studio
- A channel rack and step sequencer to build loops, then arrange them as clips in the playlist.
- A piano roll for notes, with automation clips and MIDI learn on every control.
- A mixer with inserts, sends, sidechains and groups.
- Opens your FL Studio projects and presets, and saves back to .flp without overwriting the original.
- Runs VST3, CLAP, VST2, AU and LV2 plug-ins, and comes with its own instruments and effects.
What is missing
- FL Studio's own instruments and effects are swapped for Gridline's equivalents when you open a project.
- Shared projects work only with Gridline's own plugins, and everyone needs the same, newest version.
How to get started
- Click Download and pick the file for your system: an installer or zip for Windows, a .dmg for Mac, or an AppImage, .deb, .rpm or .tar.gz for Linux.
- Run the installer, or unpack the zip and open Gridline.
- The files are not signed, so Windows asks you to choose "More info" and then "Run anyway", and on Mac you open the app the first time with right-click, Open.
- Open an FL Studio project with File, Open, or try the demo song from File, New from template.
