What works the same as SnapGene
- Open several sequences at once, each in its own tab.
- Circular and linear plasmid maps, with the enzyme cut sites labelled on the map.
- Opens and saves SnapGene .dna files, and also reads GenBank, FASTA and other formats.
- Restriction digests with a large enzyme list, and a virtual agarose gel.
- Simulates cloning steps such as Gibson, Golden Gate and Gateway, and designs primers.
What is missing
- Only Linux installers are published so far; Windows and Mac versions are not built yet.
- This is an early version, 0.1.0.
How to get started
- Click Download. It opens the project versions page.
- Pick the file for your system: a deb for Debian and Ubuntu, an rpm for Fedora, or an AppImage for any other Linux.
- You can also use it in your browser, with nothing to install.
- Drop in a .dna file, or start with the two sample plasmids that come with it.
