What works the same as Everything
- Searches all your drives at once, with results sortable by name, path, size and date.
- Searches with queries like ext:pdf, size:>100mb and dm:today.
- Previews text, images and folders, and edits text right in the window.
- Opens a result, shows it in Explorer, or copies its path.
- Starts instantly because its index is cached on disk.
What is missing
- Fast NTFS indexing needs one UAC prompt for a helper; otherwise it uses a parallel folder scan.
How to get started
- The project has no installer: you prepare it yourself on Windows with Rust.
- In the project folder, run cargo build --release.
- Start FileCraft.exe from the target\release folder, then click ⚡ Fast NTFS indexing in the status bar for MFT indexing.
